After directly comparing the Plixir power supply to the stock Egston E2CFSW3 30 supplied by Linnenberg audio the consensus opinion was that the Plixir exhibited noticeable greater clarity and resolution as well as providing greater “separation” between the various elements of the music.
From the moment of switching it on, I could tell the profound improvement it brings to the sound. It has darker background, more details, airy and very analogue. I am very pleased with result. Listening again last night, the upgrade really brings fireworks to my system. Even my Naim's PRaT has greatly enhanced probably due to improved dynamic contrast.
It is AWESOME! The resolution and voices are more distinct!
Improvements to the system. EVERY BIT AS CLAIMED. And it is still not run in yet!
The immediate change out of the box with the BAC-800 was noticeable. Even with the 2 daisy chained DA&T filters, it was clear that instruments were better separated from each other and there was a greater sense of purity especially to the midrange in my system.
Soundstage, resolution and micro detail, all are improving after the mod. I highly recommended for mac mini user who use this as a music server to get their mac mini modded and with the Plixir DC Balanced Power Supply.
The result I got was that there was increased dynamics and body for the sound. The voice and instruments sounded slightly more detailed than before. I am pleased with both the power conditioner as it has brought my setup to another level. Thumbs up!
Like all good conditioners, the background is really dark. The instruments in the music basically "unchained" themselves from thespeakers. It just basically exist in space, freely spread from right to left; back to front. Chimes, bells and triangles are easy to hear. Erh hu and violins are string instruments that are totally different although played the same way. One has body whereas the other hasn't. The harmonics and decay in piano and guitar is rather alluring to listen to.
His version uses the Oyaide R0 beryllium copper and copper IEC inlet that gives a more refined and detailed sound.
